About the author
In 1924, Nadezhda Sergeevna was born. She became a candidate in the pedagogical sciences in 1976 after successfully defending her qualification work on the subject of "Processes of systemic acquisition of the native (Russian) language in case of speech impairment."
N.S. Zhukova became a renowned expert in speech therapy after dedicating more than 30 years of her life to the field. More than a million handbooks with her writing were published, assisting parents in teaching their kids.
She was employed at the Moscow Children’s Psychiatric Hospital from 1960 until 1990. Nadezhda Zhukova conducted specialized research on the progressive processes involved in preschoolers’ speech development. Her scientific publications are listed in both foreign and Russian publications under her profile.
Nadezhda Sergeevna acted as an activist in public activities. In the 1960s, she and her fellow neuropsychologists, as part of an initiative group, decided on issues of how to organize specialized groups for children with speech disorders in preschool institutions. The initiative group also developed all the necessary documents for this and established the regulations for the work of the selection committees. Thanks to the work of N.S.
