The competitiveness of graduates (the primary rating of the top 200 and separate ratings in four major areas of training) and the total number of graduates who entered prestigious universities (at the federal level, in eight federal districts and 85 regions of Russia) were the basis for compiling school ratings based on the agency’s work.
Sibmama has previously discussed in great detail the ins and outs of this rating’s composition.
According to the rating, regional schools are becoming more competitive and the gap between the best institutions in the regions and the capital is closing. The percentage of capital schools in the rating has dropped from 45 to 31% over the last four years.
Organizations from 38 different Russian Federation regions are represented on the top 200 list overall. The top cities are Tatarstan (12), Moscow (62 schools), Moscow Region (23), St. Petersburg (18), and Sverdlovsk Region (16).
Six schools from the Tomsk Region, four from the Novosibirsk Region, two from the Kemerovo Region, and two from the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) are included in the rating.

The RAEX organization published a thorough ranking of the top educational institutions in Russia and Siberia in 2023, showcasing those that lead the way in terms of academic achievement, the caliber of instruction, and the overall experience of students. This article will examine the top-ranked schools and provide insights into their unique characteristics and contributions to high-quality education.
Rating of the best schools in Russia by graduate competitiveness
The primary ranking, which consists of the 200 best schools by graduate competitiveness, takes into account the educational establishments from which graduates most frequently gain admission to prestigious Russian universities according to the RAEX rating.
Just three new players are included in the top 30 of the rating. The FMSH g. Tyumen made the biggest jump in the top 10, moving up five spots in a single year from 14th to 9th.
Maintains its ascent in the SUNC NSU ranking, moving up from 13th to 8th place over the previous two years and making its first appearance in the TOP-10 best Russian universities!
Two schools from Novosibirsk Oblast remain in the top 100: SUNC NSU and Lyceum No. 130, which dropped significantly in the rankings to 83rd from 43rd. The first hundred saw the entry of nine Siberian schools, and this is a reasonably stable indicator.
Unfortunately, there are only 10 Siberian schools rated in the second hundred, down from 15 the previous year. Four Novosibirsk schools—the Second Gymnasium, the NSTU Lyceum, the Educational Center-Gymnasium No. 6 "Gornostay," and the Aerospace Lyceum named for Yu.V. Kondratyuk—lost their spots in the top 200 rankings.

Rating of schools by the number of those admitted to leading universities in Russia
The organization created lists of schools that are the main providers of students to Russia’s top universities in addition to the competitiveness ratings, which are determined by taking into account the percentage of graduates accepted into the top universities in the nation.
Based on the total number of students admitted to the top universities in the nation, these rankings are determined. Large schools with lots of graduates therefore have a better chance of producing leaders.
There are 300 spots on the all-Russian list, and federal districts (8 ratings, or 20 schools) and individual regions (85 ratings, or 5 to 50 schools) have also been assigned leaders.
The Lyceum of the National Research University Higher School of Economics, Bauman Engineering School No. 1580, and the School at the Center for Pedagogical Excellence (CPE), which increased the number of graduates more than tenfold in two years, are the largest centers for preparing students for the best Russian universities.
Based on the total number of graduates accepted into Russia’s top universities, nearly all federal district leaders attested to their status. In Siberia and the Urals, these are specialized educational and scientific centers at Novosibirsk State University and the Ural Federal University; among schools in Central Russia, apart from Moscow, there is the Phystech Lyceum named after; in three districts, university schools predominate. Kapitsa, P. L.

The Siberian Federal District’s schools received an overall grade of 10%. Six schools, as opposed to nine last year, represent Novosibirsk Oblast in the rating. The best of them is SUNC NSU, which, according to this rating, is still one of the top five best universities in the nation.
Gymnasium No. 1, which increased by over 10 points, is in position 82. The remaining Novosibirsk schools saw a sharp decline in their rankings: Lyceum No. 130 is ranked 100th, the Engineering Lyceum of NSTU and the educational center "Gornostay" are ranked 200th and 201st, respectively, and Gymnasium No. 3 is ranked 289th, down from 194th the previous year.
However, a true breakthrough has occurred among the Krasnoyarsk Territory’s schools: nine were included in the rating in 2022, as opposed to just four!
Ratings of the best schools in Russia in major areas of training
RAEX not only produced the primary rating but also lists of leaders in four key training domains: "medicine," "economics and management," "social and humanitarian areas," and "technical, natural sciences and exact sciences." 50 schools with the highest percentage of graduates accepted into prestigious Russian universities in the relevant fields were included in each of these rankings.
The MSU SUNC is the best at preparing technicians, and the Sechenov Medical Pre-University is the best at preparing applicants for medical specialties. These are the same winners in two of the four categories. There was a shift in leadership in the other two areas: the private Rostov Lyceum KEO was rated highest in the "humanities" field, and the private "Lomonosov School" was rated highest in the "economics and management" field.
For the first time, private schools were among the top-ranked in two categories. Approximately 10% of the rating’s participants are private institutions overall.
The current leaders did not win "gold," despite finishing in the top three in the past. Given that 20% of the "humanities" and nearly a third of the "economic" list are private, the success of private businesses highlights the high level of competition enjoyed by these institutions generally, and particularly in the social sciences.
Siberian schools in the ranking of the best schools in Russia in the field of training "Economics and Management"
In contrast to the previous two years, Gymnasium No. 24, named after Oktyabrskaya g. Tomsk, is a representative of the Siberian region and ranks 48th among the best schools in this field. There isn’t a single school in Novosibirsk listed here.
As before, Moscow and the surrounding area are home to the vast majority (44 out of the TOP-50) of institutions teaching future economists.

However, Siberian schools have historically been more effective here! Six Siberian schools made it into the TOP-50; the majority of them are ranked in the top half.
The top three and the participants from the Siberian Federal District were the same as they were the previous year. The Regional Boarding School for Gifted Children "School of Cosmonautics" from Zheleznogorsk made progress, moving up from 49th to 31st place. SUNC NSU remains in eighth position.

Siberian schools in the ranking of the best schools in Russia in the direction of training "Social and humanitarian directions"
Humanities departments in regional schools are progressively regaining their positions from Moscow and the surrounding area. Muscovites now only have 33 spots out of 50, down from 37 last year. Furthermore, the front-runner is the Rostov-on-Don KEO Lyceum, which has outperformed the best Moscow schools!
TSU Lyceum has joined the Siberian Federal District, which was previously only represented by Tomsk Humanitarian Lyceum (which remained in 10th place) in this ranking in 2022. Not a single school in Novosibirsk has been ranked in the top 50 for training in "Social and Humanitarian Areas" in the past few years.

Siberian schools in the ranking of the best schools in Russia in terms of graduate competitiveness in the field "Medicine"
And once more, the Siberian Federal District is only represented by one secondary school, No. 144 in Krasnoyarsk, in the list of institutions preparing future physicians. It went from sixth to tenth position. In the meantime, this TOP-50 includes a diverse range of regions, with capitals making up roughly one-third of the list. The leader is still Moscow Sechenov Medical Pre-University.
