Saturn in Capricorn: three years of strict regime

We recently talked about how retrograde Saturn affects our lives with our astrologer Safira Nizamova. Safira clarified, though, that in astrology, the sign a planet travels through is just as significant as its retrograde motion. We decided to consult an expert about the significance of this period because Saturn entered the sign of Capricorn in December 2017 and will stay there for the next three years.

– Safira, what makes Saturn’s position in Capricorn unique?

If I may say so, Saturn resides in Capricorn, which is its native home. Its characteristics are most actively and vividly displayed here: responsibility, limitation (order, hierarchy, tight framework), and goal-focused attention. One word that characterizes the sign of Capricorn itself is hierarchy. Its emblem is a mountain that needs to be ascended methodically, little by little, while scrupulously adhering to the rules of order and subordination. With Saturn in Capricorn, destiny is somewhat dictated to you—do what you have to, get what you deserve.

And in that case, what should one do?

Let’s first determine who should do it. Like other "slow" planets (Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, Jupiter, etc.), Saturn has an impact on social structures rather than any one individual. These structures include businesses, corporations, political parties, nations, and countries. In a sense, the influence starts at a few thousand individuals. The Saturnine period in Capricorn is an ideal time to create a new, lucid, comprehensible, and functional structure for these kinds of structures.

Let’s review some history: when Saturn was last in Capricorn, the Berlin Wall fell and Germany was reunited. What year was it built, by the way? Of course, this was in 1961, when Saturn was in Capricorn! This could be the clearest illustration of the "from Capricorn to Capricorn" Saturnian cycle.

Thirty years ago, one could also clearly observe Saturn’s influence in Russia. Between February 14, 1988, and February 6, 1991, what transpired? In actuality, we gave up on the USSR and all of its ideals, errors, and successes. At this point, the previous foundations fall apart regretfully, new laws are passed, and new management structures are established. This is the nature of Saturn in Capricorn!

Please take note that since Saturn recently entered its abode, elections for president have already taken place, a new government is being formed, and ministries are restructuring. Now, these might appear to be pointless formalities. But trust me, just as we could not have imagined Russia in the 1990s in 1988, we will live in a different nation in 2020 that we cannot even begin to imagine today.

What about the typical person who is only watching "Game of Thrones"?

– Particular individuals create historical events. Therefore, for everyone involved in large hierarchical structures, the Saturnian period in Capricorn will undoubtedly be significant. For officials, soldiers, and security personnel, these three years represent one-of-a-kind professional experiences that they will never have again. Saturn will still have an impact on those pursuing careers in large, clearly hierarchical companies, albeit to a lesser degree.

This is the era of servants, not rebels, I say it again. Yes, accepting accountability, firmly guiding subordinates, and blindly obeying orders. No to disobedience, betraying coworkers, slyness, and getting away with it from the boss.

– A regular person can and should utilize Saturn to his advantage, "working through" the challenging times in his life, if they choose not to enlist in the military, work for a major international corporation, or serve in any of the government agencies. Here, self-control, discipline, diligence, and patience are the only guidelines!

And how can one determine which area requires attention? Life can be difficult at times. You’re not sure what to hold on to.

Numerous factors come into play, but the primary one is the House in which Saturn is placed in your natal chart. It can be summed up as follows in general.

First House

For those who have Saturn in the First House of the natal chart, a new 30-year cycle begins. These will be three difficult years when you need to complete the old and choose the new, let go of what prevents you from developing and subject yourself to unpleasant but necessary tests. You can"t call this period pleasant – most people with Saturn in the First House describe its transit through the sign of Capricorn as years of loneliness, hard work (sometimes literally – physically hard) and despair. They feel like they have taken on an unbearable burden, but in the end they gain something more than just peace and harmony – a life mission that gives meaning to their existence.

For those who were born under the sign of Capricorn, all of the aforementioned holds true.

Second House

You will have clear financial difficulties over the next three years if Saturn is in the Second House of your natal chart. You will eventually run out of money, so you’ll need to reevaluate how you feel about material things. If up until now you have been an accumulator, gathering everything that brought you comfort and happiness, you will now need to decide what to part with and what to keep. Of course, you’ll also need to develop your saving skills. Learn to maintain household accounts for the next three years. Even impulsive purchases should be "well-prepared impromptu."

For those who were born under the sign of Sagittarius, all of the aforementioned holds true.

The third house

You will be caught off guard by arguments with family members (brothers, sisters, and friends who you consider to be your relatives). Your communication circle will close for an unknown reason. It’s possible that your reputation will suffer and that people will misunderstand or misinterpret what you say. You’ll need to go through your notebook very carefully and cross out all the people who turned out to be strangers in spirit. Even though your life appears the same from the outside, many people will feel alone.

For those born under the sign of Scorpio, all of the aforementioned holds true.

The fourth house

There will be something that literally keeps you at home if Saturn is in your fourth house. You’ll find yourself confined to four walls, and even if you’ve always secretly fantasized about becoming a housewife, you’ll still see what’s happening as forced labor and a cruel twist of fate. Unpleasant and sometimes dramatic circumstances include losing your job or a loved one becoming ill and needing your care. Issues will also surface in the "home" in a more general sense; relationships will be tense and you might lose mutual understanding with your parents and older relatives.

The aforementioned also holds true for people who were born under the sign of Libra.

Fifth House

“The boat of love crashed into everyday life” – this is precisely Saturn in Capricorn in the Fifth House. Relationships are subject to various tests, and these are not necessarily domestic and financial difficulties – perhaps a long separation of spouses, betrayal and simply a re-evaluation of your relationship. Not every marriage will survive this period, but the one that does will grow stronger and will then withstand any storms. Problems may also arise with children – both a cooling of relations and simply a long separation. Problems with bearing a pregnancy and childbirth are likely, but much worse is terminating a pregnancy, this threatens serious health problems. Finally, the number of unrecognized geniuses will increase – it will be much more difficult than usual for creative people to achieve fees and public recognition.

The aforementioned also holds true for people who were born under the sign of Virgo.

Sixth House

We should also upset those with Saturn in the sixth House – you may have problems with your pets. Try to stop their escape attempts, and also carefully monitor their health. However, you need to monitor your own health no less closely: it is during these three years that you can, through your own negligence, allow the occurrence and development of a serious illness (this could also be an injury). The more caring you are for yourself, the more attention you pay to your nutrition and physical fitness, the healthier you will be by 2020. Finally, at work there comes a period of low-paid, routine, boring work, from which you also need to learn to receive moral satisfaction.

Seventh House

A happy marriage is seriously hampered by Saturn’s position in the Seventh House, in Capricorn. More broadly, issues can occur in any kind of partnership, be it familial, professional, or artistic. This does not mean that you will never meet your true love in the next three years; rather, this novel will read more like a somber, introspective work than a lighthearted adventure. The same holds true for business alliances and selecting a contractor, physician, or attorney, for instance, when making repairs! Nothing is susceptible to chance.

Eighth House

If your Saturn is in the Eighth House, urgently stop with any extreme sports! Even crossing an empty road on a flashing green can be fraught with tragic consequences! Remember the films "Final Destination"? So, Saturn in Capricorn in the Eighth House is something like a script for such a movie: disasters literally haunt you, waiting for your slightest mistake. In the best case, you will be forced to eliminate their consequences (for example, you are suddenly sent to some dangerous zone), in the worst case, you will become a direct participant in such an event. Also in danger are finances – yours, if you entrusted them to some management company, bank or trust fund, or your loved one (spouse, child, parent), if you also use these funds.

Ninth House

People who have Saturn in the Ninth House are likely to take unexpected travels. For instance, you will suffer if you are forced to leave your country of origin or if you are split up from your parents by state borders. You’ll undoubtedly run into issues with overseas partners, and you’ll have a lot of trouble signing contracts. Lastly, study is another facet of Saturn in the Ninth House. It will be challenging, as they say, "with a creak," with numerous extra challenges. You will need to put in a lot of work to pass each exam.

Tenth House

Saturn in the Tenth House will affect your work and social status. Perseverance, diligence, hard work and hard work are your key to success. Saturn is stern but fair; it indicates a change in course rather than causing harm, even though these are precisely what you would want to refer to as a series of trials that fall. For instance, someone from Lviv recently read about potential health issues. Isn’t this a good excuse to plan your nutrition, join a gym, and get a preventive checkup?

Of course, you could do nothing, disregard all of the incoming "bells," and wind up in a hospital bed suffering from an ulcer or a heart attack. Is "a great misfortune" – Saturn – really to blame? Will Aries suffer more from adhering to work regulations and Sagittarius be prevented from learning how to save money? It is not the evil Saturn that is to blame if, in three years, Aries is jobless and Sagittarius is drowning in debt; rather, it is your own lack of self-control.

You have three years—the clock is ticking—to transform into the greatest version of yourself. The universe is prepared to prod you with sticks and carrots for once. Therefore, don’t wait another thirty years for a new opportunity!
