Dining out can be more fun for parents and kids when they find Yekaterinburg restaurants that welcome families with young children. Nowadays, the city is full of places with kid-friendly rooms where young ones can amuse themselves while their parents unwind and savor their meal. This guide makes it easier for families to choose a restaurant that works for everyone by highlighting some of the best kid-friendly eateries with designated areas.
Restaurant "Pashtet"
St. Tolmacheva, 23 in Yekaterinburg
Russian and European cuisines are served.
A typical bill of 1500 rubles.
Children’s "Pashtet": a small, comfortable space. There are toys for every age group, but not many. Wall-mounted activity boards, a kids’ kitchen complete with dishes and snacks, dolls and plush toys, automobiles, and a train. Numerous board games. An educational game on an interactive screen.
The red slide is what draws in all newcomers, and they come here to "try out" this first. And that’s exactly what my little one did—sliding head first onto her stomach. Nanny Aya jumps up right away to fix the severe slide. She requests that you not fall that way again. The all-seeing nanny not only keeps an eye on the kids’ safety but also arranges their entertainment when they get bored. For example, she offers one child to play lotto, assigns another to draw, or even brings in a cartoon.
The restaurant hosts a children’s cooking school class called "PASHTETIK" on the last Sunday of each month. The price is one thousand rubles.
Playground security. The slide’s low sides raise a few concerns. For insurance, it would be worthwhile to add a soft covering underneath.
5. It is immaculately organized. Dust-free shelves and a spotless floor. The toys are arranged exquisitely. Neatly arranged are books and game boxes. The nanny cleans up right away after every child leaves.
Work hours for nannies are from 13:00 to 21:00 every day. Only their parents are allowed to enter the room with young children under three.
Good location. There are numerous tables that parents with young children can reserve next to the playroom. Highchairs accessible.
Several menu items include:
- children"s milk sausages with homemade pasta – 270 rubles;
- chicken cutlets with mashed potatoes – 270 rubles;
- pumpkin puree soup with croutons – 150 rubles;
- pancakes with berries and sour cream and condensed milk sauce – 170 rubles.
Children’s restrooms are separate. There is a clean kid’s toilet seat and footrest available.
There isn’t any parking available for the restaurant. If there are no signs prohibiting parking, you are free to park on the closest streets.
Restaurant "Zveroboy"
28A, St. Posadskaya, Yekaterinburg
Genuine Ural cuisine.
A typical bill of 2000 rubles.
The restaurant’s children’s room is styled after the classic tale "Alice in Wonderland," but my daughter believes it to be a "tree house" because she hasn’t read the book yet. It appears to be.
There is a staircase leading to the second level, where you will find yourself beneath the ceiling. You can lie down or crawl there and even watch what’s going on in the dining room. Next, descend the yellow slide and swing "on the grass" below on a circular swing.
You can ascend the climbing wall if you get tired of the stairs. Weary, run and jump—draw at the table downstairs or watch cartoons.
There aren’t many toys, books, or board games here. Lisa, the nanny, says that since most visitors to the kids’ room want to engage in active play, it’s sufficient to simply observe them. Before she settled down to sleep, my daughter energetically galloped for one and a half hours. After the nanny gave her a Lego set, the fidgety child played quietly for five minutes before running upstairs once more!
The restaurant offers kid-friendly creative workshops on the weekends. 350 rubles is the price. It is preferable to register in advance.
Site security. Here, you have to watch out for young children. Just like in any other playground with slides, swings, and stairs. This is true even though the second tier of the kids’ room "Zveroboy" is piled high with pillows, and the majority of the space is covered in soft surfaces. There is also a soft mat adjacent to the slide.
Tidiness: 4.
Working hours for nannies are from 12 to 21 hours on Thursday through Sunday. Only their parents may accompany children under five on the playground.
Good location. The dining room has a clear view of the children’s room. Parents can also reserve tables that are a few meters away from it. Little ones can use the high chairs available.
Items from the kids’ menu:
- steamed coho salmon – 340 rubles;
- chicken noodle soup – 320 rubles;
- turkey dumplings – 410 rubles;
- salad with chicken – 300 rubles.
Parking. Guests of restaurants are entitled to free parking on the TC "Univerbyt" property.
Restaurant "Donna Olivia"
Ekaterinburg, 8 Marta Street 41
A typical bill of 1000 rubles.
The focal point of the tiny space was a house with ladders and a white slide. The house-slide is fully utilized: my hyperactive daughter rolls down the slide and climbs up to the top of the house like a wind-up toy, and at the bottom under the house, someone is playing hide and seek. At the top, the kids are lying on a big pile of soft toys.
The kids are drawing at the children’s table against the room’s right wall. There’s also a big screen with a cartoon, but it doesn’t seem to be in use right now.
A green chest of drawers with books and a basket of toys is located on the left; it is regularly emptied and rearranged by recently arrived "curious ones."
Nanny Nastya takes care of the children, gently guiding their flow so that they don’t swarm the slide. She invites the kids who have been misbehaving a lot to play at the table.
There is nowhere in the official rules about using the children’s room. Naturally, everything occurs with the parents’ consent and according to the nanny’s abilities. She left a one-year-old boy with him in my presence, asking me to watch him while his mother ate. The nanny consented, but these thirty minutes were not easy for her; a lively one-year-old moved every five minutes, and a group of rowdy eight-year-olds were jumping on the nearby slide, ready to knock down the children, who were playing next to the slide, by accident. It is improbable that the nanny would have consented to watch another child at that particular time.
Donna Olivia has kid-friendly events every Saturday and Sunday, such as interactive performances, master cooking classes, and creative workshops. It is best to register in advance even though participation is free.
Security. Every possible area close to the stairs has mats and cushions. However, you should never leave very young children alone; the stairs and slide call for constant attention.
Cleanliness: 4. The kid can wash his hands and face in the little sink with a tap that is located in the children’s room.
Saturday 11:00 to 20:00 and Sunday 11:00 to 17:00 are the times that nannies are in the office.
The kids’ room is in a handy location. One of the tables, where the children’s room is easily visible, can be reserved in advance.
There are highchairs available for feeding infants.
Several items on the kids’ menu:
- pumpkin cream soup – 115 rubles;
- French fries with sauce – 135 rubles;
- pizza with ham and corn – 165 rubles;
- sausage with pasta and parmesan – 195 rubles;
- salmon with steamed rice – 255 rubles.
Parking. There isn’t a parking lot adjacent to the restaurant. In general, a lot of visitors leave their cars in the Greenwich shopping center’s parking lot.
