Ice arena, ice sports palace
(383) 315-00-14; Zorge, 82/3 Open skating: Saturday, 18.45–19.45, and Sunday, 17.45–18.45 (phone check required).
Cost: from 100 rubles. per hour.
LDS "Ice Arena" is a great choice for residents of the Kirovsky district looking for an affordable and exciting family getaway. While there is only an hour set aside for public skating on weekends, people of all ages actually skate here, and it can get pretty busy at times. The skating rink’s clean, welcoming environment and cozy atmosphere are noted by patrons.
The "Ice Arena" has a cloakroom, multiple cozy changing rooms, a cafe, snack vending machines, music playing, and skate sharpening available. The ice is of good quality. Since the average air temperature is around +7, a light cap might be useful. Regretfully, there isn’t a skate rental available here, and there aren’t any "helpers"—supports for people who can’t stand on the ice yet.
Lokomotiv, ice sports complex
(383) 284-77-87; Pervomayskaya, 154 Weekends: public skating, approximately 17.30 to 20 (call ahead to confirm). Skate rental is 200 rubles per hour; cost is 100 rubles per hour.
The LSK "Lokomotiv" offers a reasonably priced, state-of-the-art skating rink. Even though the living quarters are rather basic, it is usually packed because this is the only indoor skating rink in the Pervomaysky neighborhood. In winter, the indoor temperature ranges from 5 to 10 degrees Celsius. The most important factor is the ice quality, which is excellent in this case due to the use of contemporary pouring technology. During mass skating, happy music plays, a cafe is open, and lockers are available for storing belongings. Attend – it will be lively and boisterous! There are special boxes for kids who can’t stand on skates by themselves.
The "Lokomotiv" skating rink’s main purpose is still to train young and adult hockey players, which makes it inconvenient that there is rarely a set schedule for mass skating.
Rodnik, ice arena
Tyulenina, 10; vk.com/larodnik; (383) 319-59-74 Open skating: Sun. from 12:30 to 16:00, with ice preparation breaks in between. On vacation and during holidays, more time is allotted. Cost: 100 rubles per hour or more.
A contemporary and cozy ice arena that is spotless, well-lit, well-equipped, and where the ice is prepared just before skating. When skating, there is a teacher on the ice.
There are lines here as well; occasionally, we have to restrict the number of riders. It’s best to wear a warm sweater because the rink doesn’t have a very high temperature. In addition to new skates, the rental shop offers a sharpening service. Sadly, there isn’t a secured cloakroom, but there are changing rooms. Of course, there’s a cafe with music playing.
The answering machine will notify you of the free skating time, which is subject to change.
Energiya, skating rink of the sports complex
Chasovaya, 2a; vk.com/club26238452, (383) 334-63-77 Working hours: 18 to 20.30 on Saturday and Sunday. Fee: 100 rubles per hour, including 120 rubles for renting skates.
The sports complex "Energia" is a popular destination for the ObGES microdistrict’s residents; it houses a gym, hockey practice areas, and games. On weekends and holidays, public skating is only available in the evenings. This is among the least expensive places in Novosibirsk to go public skating.
There’s a storage room, a cloakroom, and a skate sharpening service. It’s warm and quiet at the SC "Energia" skating rink. The cafe is open, and there are cozy changing rooms. For an extra cost, you can exercise with a teacher as well.
Zvezdny, ice sports palace
(383) 350-86-66 Novosibirskaya Hours of operation: 8 to 20. Skating in public: Sunday, 17.30–19.00 Skate rental is 200 rubles per hour; cost is 100 rubles per hour.
On Sunday evenings only, the LDS "Zvezdny" skating rink is open to everyone. Although it is preferable to wear a warm sweater, you can skate here without any outerwear. There is easy access to the ice and a large shared locker room (without separate booths and security). Special "walkers" will be given to the babies. The ice is of excellent quality. Cons: Since there isn’t much time for skating, the lengthy lines at the box office and rental are particularly inconvenient. Arriving early at the rink is advised by regulars.
Here, you can get your skates sharpened (a 250 ruble service). Popular music is played during skating at the stadium, which features a board that displays the temperature and time.
Novosibirsk and Berdsk have a range of indoor skating rinks where you can enjoy ice skating all year round if you’re looking for an exciting and active family outing. These nine rinks offer a fun and safe atmosphere for both kids and adults, regardless of skating skill level. It’s the ideal way to spend a day exercising, spending time with loved ones, and making lifelong memories.
Berdsk, Ice Sports Palace
Berdsk, Borovaya, 103a; lds-berdsk.ru; (383) 414-09-19, (913) 017-93-12 Public skating: every Saturday from 18 to 22 hours. Cost: 180 (75) rubles per hour for skate rental; children under 7 pay 60 rubles per hour.
A large, packed skating rink that is well-liked by many Berdsk locals despite being difficult to access. This place is airy, light, and warm enough that you could skate in a sweater!
Snacking is possible in the LDS "Berdsk," changing clothes and heading outside are conveniently organized, and there are special curbs for people who don’t know how to skate. Things can be kept in lockers. Queues may form when returning and issuing skates, though. The skates themselves come in a variety of quality levels; some are new and some are not. Guests comment on how good the ice is. On New Year’s Day, when skating is done around a decorated Christmas tree under the twinkling of multicolored lights, the skating rink is especially lovely.
Winter-Summer, sports and hotel complex, Berdsk
Berdsk, Yuzhny microdistrict 12, (913) 200-75-89, (383) 413-44-57 Open skating: Friday, 19–23; Saturday, Sun., 17–23. Rental fee: 250 rubles per 80 minutes; cost: 200 rubles.
The ice is of good quality and is constantly renewed; the rink is warm and retro music is playing. The skates that are available for rent are decent, though you can sharpen your own. Visitors frequently request repairs and complain about the premises’ inconvenient location, but there’s a good locker room where you can leave your belongings safe. A drink kiosk is present.
Beginner skaters with coaches, young hockey players, and casual spectators of all skill levels frequently skate here simultaneously. Although this may cause annoyance, moving in a circle is generally followed.
Rink "Mega"
Vatutina, 107; mega.ru/novosibirsk; (383) 298-90-33 Working hours are 10 to 21 on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Cost: 200–230 rubles; children under 4 enter free of charge; subscription required.
This is the most well-known year-round skating rink in the city, where people of all ages skate every day. The rink, which is particularly well-liked by parents of small children, is situated in the middle of the Mega food court. There’s a large assortment of skates available in every size, protection, a cloakroom, a storage room, and no additional fees for skate rentals (be aware that they will require a document as a deposit). If you are still hesitant to skate, you can hire a penguin, bear, or sea lion as your "assistant" for 100 rubles.
Additionally, there are lots of cafes nearby where you can refuel after training! They exercise on the ice on Sundays at 12 o’clock, and a legitimate children’s figure skating school is open here on Mondays and Thursdays starting at 18 o’clock. Students between the ages of 4 and 14 are accepted, and competitions are regularly held.
